Job Description
The Director, Commerce Media reports to the VP, Commerce and is responsible for driving thought leadership/shaping holistic commerce strategy to drive client’s business, as well as overseeing the activation team responsible for bringing those strategies & plans to life in practice. This role is dedicated to Coty and will work on their portfolio of fragrance/makeup brands across both consumer beauty (Covergirl, Sally Hansen, Airspun, Rimmel, Adidas, Beckham, Vera Wang, Nautica, Jovan, etc.) and luxury (Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chloe, Gucci, Philosophy, Hugo Boss, Marc, Jacobs, Tiffany, Davidoff, etc.).
The Director will partner with clients & agency Omni/Brand teams to address ecommerce media landscape opportunities and threats to continue to bring forth new opportunities for growth. The Director works with client stakeholders & holistic agency strategy teams to develop strategy most effectively drive business results across all eCommerce and omni-channel Retail Media platforms including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Macys, Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Sephora, etc. and platforms such as Skai, Profitero, The Trade Desk, Criteo, Epsilon Retail Media/Citrus Ads, etc. The Commerce Director is accountable for working with the team to ensure performance is hitting stated revenue, sales, and online goals, and will be key stakeholder for client + Publicis Commerce Team relationship. Proven excellence and
experience in online retail digital media required. A background in shopper marketing is a plus.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices across the Publicis Commerce team & serve as the connector across the agency and client teams re: commerce integration & initiatives. You will serve as the main point of contact for Publics Commerce across senior clients and act as a leader across the full agency team.
Role Objectives:Manage growing eCommerce team in the planning and activation of campaigns across retail commerce space, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Macys, Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Sephora, etc. and platforms such as Skai, Profitero, The Trade Desk, Criteo, Epsilon Retail Media/Citrus Ads, etc.Responsible for ongoing thought leadership and opportunities that will drive client business resultsKey lead for client relationship, responsible for team oversight and ensuring performance is meeting client’s goalsWorks closely with key retail partners to maintain optimal working relationship, and collaborates on new ways to drive client’s business at that particular retailerResponsible for and attending larger Business reviews (QBRs, Annual Planning, etc.) and owns process of working with team to consolidate and uplevel data deliveryActively contribute to account strategy, including annual budget development, KPIs, partner selection, new tactics, and tracking industry developments and recommending newResponsible for overall activation strategy and driving best in-class ways of workingBilling and finance ownership including budget tracking, billing, team adheres to pacing and operationsConnected to inter-Publicis Groupe Commerce Practice, and responsible for distributing Groupe-level POVs, Industry materials, etc.Work to sell through proprietary Commerce tools and techSupport in any new business pitches and related work as requiredUnderstanding of all relevant tools for reporting, analytics, and competitive analysisResponsible for managing and coaching a team of 3+ varying levels below them
Qualifications
Strong understanding of eCommerce landscape6+years of media planning and buying
experience, with at least 3years in digital commerce role.In-depth knowledge of the retail commerce landscape is criticalKnowledge of activation & optimization techniques across Retailer Media & eCommerce platforms is a mustStrong command of commerce platforms, syndicated research tools, and reporting resources such as Amazon, Walmart Media Group, and Instacart3+years of people managing
experienceDemonstrated critical thinking & problem-solving abilities.Solid verbal & written communication
skills – you’re poised, precise, and above all, kind when engaging with others. Proven track record of selling ideas clearly & delivering value.Ability to work successfully with teams on multiple projects under tight deadlinesDesire to work in an industry which is constantly evolving & presenting new & unique challengesAble to package, merchandise, and sell in concepts and new opportunitiesStrategic thinking and able to see the bigger picture
Additional Information
Compensation Range: $115,000 - $170,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law,
compensation will be determined based on the
skills,
qualifications, and
experience of the applicant along with the
requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
