Network Engineer

Yellow Dog Networks is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate exemplifies exceptional customer service while possessing the

ResponsibilitiesDesign, configuration, and installation of complex network environments.Execute and maintain networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.Maximize network performance through proactive monitoring; troubleshooting network problems and outages; plan, document, and schedule upgrades and changes to network infrastructure; collaborates with network architects on network optimization, design, and implementation.Evaluate the security of a network design and make improvement recommendations.Obtain and maintain partner certifications as needed.Perform maintenance, upgrades, and other projects after regular business hours as needed.

QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work

experienceAt least 3 years of

experience in complex network environment supportAt least 3 year of

experience designing, managing and/or assessing complex IT infrastructuresExpertise in infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewallsExcellent operational and delivery

skillsAbility to “think big" and challenge conventional wisdomCurrent network certifications or ability to quickly obtain certifications such as CompTIA Network+ Certification, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, CWNP, or similar certifications.Must be willing to relocate or reside in the Greater KC Metro Area

Preferred

Experienceadvanced Knowledge Of Ip Networking Concepts And

skills with various network technologies and gear with manufacturers such as Extreme Networks, Aruba/HPE, Cisco, and/or Juniper Networks. Advanced

experience with firewall configuration, administration and troubleshooting using equipment from manufacturers such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Checkpoint, & Juniper. Proficiency with network services and protocols such as DNS, DHCP, IPSec, Active Directory, etc.

Experience with cloud-based networking platforms.

Experience with 802.11 Wireless protocols and platforms.

Experience with managing project phases and timelines with multiple stakeholders.Proficiency with communication to non-technical stakeholders and able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Experience with network monitoring and management tools and protocols.Understanding of virtualization technologies.Understanding of public cloud services and technologies.
