Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Firewall Security Engineer...
In This Role, You Will
Participate in the evaluation of vendor proposals, new and existing security designs, and emerging firewall technologies and systems. Work with business partners and vendors to solve problems and design information and network security solutions. Design, document, plan, coordinate, and implement complex information security solutions. Create fit for purpose template configurations to ensure consistent deployment of firewall infrastructure. Collaborate between the firewall engineering, architecture and certification teams to ensure best in class perimeter security designs. Serve as a high-level technical firewall resource on large-scale network and/or systems/applications issues. Work with teams to develop automation of firewall rules and infrastructure deployment. Serve as senior technical resource responsible for specific areas of computer security incident response activities to include intrusion detection monitoring, network security architecture. Direct or serve as a mentor to less
experienced staff.
Required
Qualifications, US:
4+ years of Information Security Engineering
experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work
experience, training, military
experience,
education2-4+ years of NGFW Expertise: Deep understanding of Next-Generation Firewall technologies from leading vendors (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.). Ability to design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot complex NGFW solutions in diverse environments.
Networking: Solid foundation in networking principles, protocols, and architectures. Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, VPN, DNS, and DHCP is essential.Strong analytical and problem-solving
skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills. Ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Flexible and adaptable to change.Continuous learner, keeping up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.Demonstrated
experience in designing and implementing security solutions that meet business
requirements and adhere to security policies and standards.Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale security projects, from conception through deployment and maintenance.
Experience in incident response and security operations. Ability to quickly analyze and respond to security threats.

Automation Platforms
Experience with automation and orchestration platforms (such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef) to streamline security operations and enforce security policies at scale.
Security Fundamentals: Strong grasp of security principles, frameworks, and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks). Knowledge of cybersecurity threats, vulnerability management, and risk assessment techniques.
Automation & Scripting: Proficient in scripting languages, particularly Python, for automating security tasks related to firewall management, log analysis, and incident response.
Experience with additional scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
Cloud Security: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their native security controls. Familiarity with cloud security best practices and tools.Security certifications a plus
