InUnity Alliance The coming together of New York's premier mental health, alcohol and substance use provider associations in 2024 to form InUnity Alliance has been described as seismic. InUnity Alliance is forming a Business and Training Center to provide an array of services for its members, focus on the financial sustainability of community-based organizations, develop, and share industry best practices, innovate new models of service, and provide premier training and technical assistance for mental health and addiction services providers. InUnity Alliance represents 250 provider organizations across the vast breadth of New York State. POSITION PURPOSE:The Chief Operating Officer will report to the CEO and oversee the day-to-day business operations of InUnity Alliance. The COO will be a member of the Executive Leadership Team that includes the Policy Director and Finance Director. The COO will oversee contracts, work with the senior leadership team of the various operating divisions to set goals, manage staff, ensure the quality, efficiency, and integrity of all programming, and step in for the CEO, when necessary. ESSENTIAL

Duties And

RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Organizational Administration & Leadership· Provide active and effective organizational leadership to program staff.· Take a leadership role in defining the organization’s culture of commitment to

diversity, equity, and inclusion.· Facilitate conflict resolution and problem-solving throughout the organization.· Work with the CEO to articulate and assure clear vision, mission, and objectives for the organization in conjunction with organization staff. · Work with the Finance Director on all matters impacting on the budget, communicating the needs of the programs.· Support the CEO to ensure maintenance of organization’s professional standards, ethics, and consumer rights.· Execute/administer/implement contracts and agreements (i.e., insurance, rent, transactions) as consistent with organization policy and Board action.· Uphold and ensure appropriate enforcement of all organization policies and practices.

B. Program Planning, Development and Supervision· Supervise Division Directors· Provide leadership in identifying community needs and opportunities, jointly with the CEO.· Contribute to the development of short and long-term strategic planning.· Oversee and ensure appropriate program documentation, evaluation, and revision.· Provide leadership and support for coalition-building.· Plan, develop, and evaluate new programs and services in response to emerging needs.· Coordinate development of program policies and priorities with staff and other stakeholders· Assure active and appropriate levels of participation in program planning, development, and implementation.

C. Grants-Writing and Management· Assist in the identification, cultivation, and pursuit of appropriate funding sources to facilitate development of programs to address organizational needs.· Organize efforts to ensure maintenance and growth of revenues through effective grants-writing and development with specific scope as defined by the CEO.· Assure timely, appropriate, and effective program and grants implementation, grants reporting, and grants officer relations.

D. Human Resources· Oversee Human Resource Department or external consultant.· Assure hiring, supervision, support, and evaluation of all staff, including workload priorities.· Assure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment rules and regulations.· Assure strategic planning for the professional development of all staff.· Assure problem-solving and facilitation of positive employee relations – in accord with established personnel policy and regulations – of staff grievances and concerns.

E. Member Relations· Serve as a key spokesperson for the organization, its mission and needs when delegated by the CEO.· Engage in public policy advocacy as appropriate.· Support the CEO in cultivating understanding and awareness of organization needs and priorities among potential funding sources and supporters, as well as the community-at-large.

F. Community Liaison and Relationship Building· Develop and sustain appropriate liaison with public/private agencies and community groups with specific scope as defined by the CEO.· Participate in inter-organization committees, councils, and coalitions in fulfillment of organizational priorities, as assigned. Qualifications:·

Experience in non-profit human services administration, preferably in the mental health and/or addiction arena, is essential. ·

Experience With

diversity, equity, and inclusion work.· Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a diverse portfolio of programs/services and a history of problem-solving complex issues by bridging the gap between strategy and implementation.·

Skills in grants-writing and development, personnel management, staff development, budgeting, finance, and community relations. · Master’s degree in a related field; minimum five years administrative/supervisory

experience and three years direct program service/clinical

experience required.· Must possess strong analytical and interpersonal

skills, have a client-service mentality, and communicate clearly and succinctly in writing and verbally.

Location: Remote within NYS, with access to offices in Albany and New York City. Travel within and outside of New York State expected. We are an
