Clarification From The Agency

Duties

Serves as a Fitness Facility Manager directing and supervising diverse functions required to operate a fitness facility up to 64,798 SQ FT. Works under the direction of the Chief, Fitness, Athletics, and Aquatics. Supervises and oversees the management and operation of a Fitness Facility. Establishes employee

work schedules and performance objectives and appraisals. Assists in the development of budgetary and manpower

requirements and recommends adjustments. Continually assesses facility

requirements and develops plans and specifications for projects to augment or replace fitness and sports facilities. Serves as facility expert for major and minor construction projects. Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Works with fitness facility staff to recommend purchase/construction of equipment and facilities. Instructs customers and monitors proper usage of equipment, as needed. Performs other

duties as assigned.

Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities. Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, and Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification. Must complete the following course(s)/class: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair)

Qualifications

Possesses Directly Related Work

experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the

skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.

Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities. The related work

experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Highly Desirable: Candidates who possess a combination of

education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical

education or kinesiology). Please provided a copy of your transcript.

Highly Preferred Criteria

Candidates who possess 6 months of

experience managing a Fitness Facility to include supervisor

experience, establish

work schedules and

skills in Fitness & Sports Programming.

Pcs Costs

Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials

This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

Incentives And Bonuses

Incentives will not be paid.

Non-foreign Overseas Allowances

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility
