Our client in the machinery manufacturing industry is looking for a Design/Project Engineer to add to their team just east of Hartford, CT. In this role, you will design and develop innovative custom and standard products to meet customer needs and solve complex engineering challenges. The ideal candidate will have prior engineering and project management

experience related to machine design, rotating mechanisms, robotics, drive technology, and/or electromagnetic devices. To be successful, you must be hands-on, team-oriented, flexible to handle changing business needs, and able to lead Engineering projects from inception through completion. Responsibilities

• Lead the development process to optimize the design of innovative products• Consider value positioning and market competition in product development• Assess customer project feasibility and prepare proposals• Support of the entire product life cycle • Preparation of initial specification drawings and drawing proposals• Develop designs and 3D models • Work with manufacturing to create and test prototypes and assemblies• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing, reliability, and cost• Prepare project scope,

requirements, and document needed modifications• Support with the creation of installation, operating, and dismounting instructions• Support both go-to-market and longer-term product strategies• Participate in the company’s product portfolio management • Work cross-functionally to support product-market plans and annual budgets

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required• 5+ years of mechanical engineering

experience is required• 3D CAD Design

experience required• Machine design, rotating mechanisms, robotics and/or electromagnetic device exp. is required• Ability to work 100% in the office is required• Ability to travel up to 10% (mostly domestic & possibly some international) is required
