Grain Merchandiser

Job Description

The Grain Merchandiser will help position The DeLong Company's assets to make the greatest long-term return. Communicate with other grain divisions to assist and complement each other when marketing grain. Monitor any risk associated with the futures market, freight, quality, and basis. Buy and market grain from the producer, trying to benefit the producer as well as the buyer. Develop working relationships with the producer to extend business to future years.

Pay: Starting at $60,000 based on

experience

Essential Functions And

Responsibilities

Monitor Grades on inbound and outbound grain, along with market to receive the largest profit from that quality.

Strong Personal

skills with customer and end users providing service and dedication.

Manage risk associated with futures transactions, being hedged properly along with rolling ownership.

Find and expand new markets.

Communicate with other merchandisers, logistics, accounting, facility staff and customers.

Use cash bids, HTA's, basis contracts or marketing programs to accommodate customer needs.

Provide follow up with producer and consistent communication.

Ability To Cold Call Customers

Validate payments, settlements, freight invoices and grades.

All Other

Bachelor's Degree

1-3 years of Computer Knowledge

1-3 year of Grain
