Senior Scientist The Senior Scientist will support Solu’s development activities and ensuring for our new range of ultrasensitive immunoassays. The role will have cross-functional responsibilities reporting to the VP of Biology but also interfacing with other senior leaders. A successful candidate will have had experience with preclinical drug discovery including immunoassays, flow cytometry, cell cytotoxicity assays, and ex vivo cell-based assays.
Responsibilities:Owning the design and performance of assays to inform and progress Solu Therapeutics drug discovery programs in Oncology and ImmunologyConduct flow cytometry to characterize and quantitate expression of proteins in primary patient samples.Performing a variety of immunoassays to measure the activation and function of NK-cells and T-cells, such as ELISAs, cell killing, gene reporter assays, etc…Summarize and Present Research at internal research meetings and external research conferences.Maintain familiarity with current technology related information and/or literature and conducts project related information searches and may be involved in extensive literature searches. Preparing experimental protocols, project summaries, and technical reports.Maintain reagent and equipment inventories, order supplies and clean laboratory areas, hoods and common equipment.Perform additional job-related duties as required.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Requirements:PhD in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related life science field with proven hands-on experience with 5-10 years of industry experienceExperience with multiparameter flow cytometry and cell based assays (including cell cytotoxicity assays)Oversee junior level staff to guide them on their projects and ensure delivery of company objectivesTrack record of working in a start-up environment and managing lab operations such as safety reviews, equipment maintenance, and ordering.Ideally have experience working with primary human samples such as PBMCs.
General requirements:Must be able to work independently and have an understanding of the preclinical drug discovery process.The successful candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills with the capability to establish collaborative working relationships. Candidate will be comfortable working in a start-up biotechnology environment
