Role Overview & Specifications
Will be involved with the refurbishment of older type 'slam door' railway carriages, working to high standards of quality finish, fabricating steel sheet size 2mm for bodywork panels involving bending, shaping and radius, and up to 12mm for vehicle structures. Working to drawings and producing bespoke parts by copying originals.
Most welding will be carried out on rail vehicles and very little bench work. The work will involve cutting out corroded sections and all preparation for welding.
Must be able to problem solve and use initiative with a flexible approach to also undertaking a wide range of activities within a multi-disciplined workshop. Experience of mechanical fitting, pipe fitting and oxy/gas burning equipment would be an advantage.

Salary: £29,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
