Very well known local High Street firm with coverage across the Hampshire region seeks an organised and team focused Legal Cashier

One of the region's leading Hight Street firms advising on both private and business related legal matters with offices at several locations.



The department are looking for an experienced individual, ideally with good knowledge of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SARs)and very much a team player. You would work with and report into the Accounts Manager forming a very well oiled machine ensuring the smooth running of the firm's financial reporting and processing functions.



If you are currently a Legal Cashier looking for a more flexible firm to work for with a friendlier outlook this would suit you down to the ground. Maybe you just need a change of scenery and would appreciate being a little more valued than you currently are. While a legal background would make an easy transition there could be possibilities for anyone with a finance background who would consider themselves competent in dealing with the majority of tasks below.

• Daily processing of payments (Chaps, Faster, International) and receipts


• Monitoring and processing expenses and travel claims


• Processing of client and office accounting transaction including postings


• Processing of client bills to include checking and posting


• Input and production of nominal payment requests


• Supervising office payments to suppliers


• Carrying out month and year end procedures


• VAT and administration returns.


• Credit Control


• Banking interactions


• Dealing firmwide with general accounts queries


• Process payments received


• Assist with processing of Land Registry and SearchFlow and the payment of other matter related disbursements


• Banking functions including bank reconciliations
