Senior Cost Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

Responsibilities:Conduct thorough cost estimations for heavy civil construction projects, including concrete, masonry, excavation, and underground utilities.Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope to accurately determine material, labor, and equipment costs.Collaborate with project teams to understand project

requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities.Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages in accordance with project timelines and

requirements.Evaluate subcontractor quotes and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive bids and cost-effectiveness.Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing regular updates and forecasts to project stakeholders.Analyze historical data and industry trends to enhance cost estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 5-7 years of

experience in cost estimating for heavy civil construction projects.Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools, such as HCSS.Strong analytical and quantitative

skills, with the ability to interpret complex project specifications and drawings.Excellent communication and negotiation

skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to cost estimating in heavy civil construction.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
