The Central Investigations team is dedicated to keeping users of the Meta technologies safe. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and

experienced investigator who will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging, high-visibility risks the company faces and the opportunity to have a substantial impact.We are seeking an investigator with

experience in understanding and mitigating issues around organized criminal groups and other violent groups and harms. In addition to having a strong investigative and analytical background, we are seeking an investigator who has

experience with NORAM-specific problems, issues, and threat landscape, and who is passionate about protecting people. The successful candidate will be able to assess and analyze large amounts of data in order to identify sources of potential threats and abuses, operate independently in a fast-paced environment and proactively collaborate with teams across the company.

Responsibilities

Investigate issues around organized criminal group activities, and other violent groups/harms, and how they impact Meta, our products and our communities, with a focus on understanding how bad actors may try to utilize our family of apps and servicesInvestigate complex cases and conduct deep analysis of potential threats that may manifest on Meta technologiesIndependently manage multiple analyses at once while effectively prioritizing timeIdentify sources of abusive behavior, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harmWork cross-functionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company, including collaborating with Policy, Engineering, and Integrity partnerssuggest and influence company-wide policy changes and contribute to changes in automated detection, specifically towards organized criminal groups and other severe harmsGather, analyze, and synthesize relevant data to identify potential abuseWork independently under high-pressure situations and make sound decisions with little to no supervisionWork with graphic and sensitive content on a regular basisAvailable for after-hours and weekend work

Minimum

Qualifications

Ba/bs Degree Or Equivalent

experience in investigations5+ years of

experience in investigations or analysis in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domains

Experience working with sensitive issues that include graphic violence, a variety of religious and political views, and/or adult content

Experience And Inclination To Protect Highly Confidential Information

Fluent In Spanishinvestigative Or Analytical

experience related to organized crime and adjacent harmsSubject matter knowledge on organized crime and illicit drug trafficking, especially pertaining to various social media platforms, analytical tools, and online research toolsAnalytical and investigative

Experience conducting open source investigations and/or investigations on behalf of a technology company
