Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Migration Architect to join our team at Bank of America. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java or .Net and extensive
experience in migrating applications from monolithic architectures to containerized, cloud-native solutions. This role will be primarily responsible for assisting in the roadmap and execution of migrations, focusing on modernization initiatives such as transitioning from mainframe systems to more modern technologies and migrating Webforms applications to contemporary frameworks.
Key
Responsibilities:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute migration roadmaps, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices.Lead the conversion of monolithic applications into containerized architectures, encompassing UI, services, and databases.Utilize expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and Redhat OpenShift platforms to architect container-native solutions.Design and implement cloud/container-native architectures, leveraging microservices, REST APIs, messaging systems, and distributed and NoSQL databases.Provide guidance and recommendations on cloud platforms, with familiarity in Azure and AWS environments, including virtual machines, Kubernetes, and databases.Support the architectural vision of the organization, with a focus on scalability, cloud migration, application modernization, and domain-driven design principles.Drive the adoption of standards and best practices across teams, ensuring consistency and efficiency in migration efforts.Demonstrate strong logical design
skills and effective relationship management to influence stakeholders and drive successful outcomes.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.8+ years of
experience in application architecture and design, with a focus on migration initiatives.Proficiency in Java or .Net programming languages.Extensive
experience in converting monolithic applications into containerized architectures.Strong expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and Redhat OpenShift platforms.In-depth understanding of cloud/container-native architecture and design patterns.Hands-on
experience with microservices, REST APIs, messaging systems, and distributed and NoSQL databases.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, including virtual machines, Kubernetes, and databases.Excellent communication
skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Proven track record of driving standards adoption and influencing stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.Ability to work onsite in either Kennesaw, Georgia or Pennington, New Jersey for at least 3 days each week.
