Summary

Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis and other equipment. Technicians must be able to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet J. B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to tractor equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspectionsTroubleshoot tractor issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company

requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelinesAssist with the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician traineesParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairsUnderstand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers

Minimum

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of

experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of

education and

experience, or military equivalentAND Demonstration of the following

skills and abilities through

education, certifications, military, or other

experiencesMust be A/C certifiedMust be DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakesAble to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase programWillingness to work outdoors in the elementsAble to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Preferred

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2+ years of

experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of

education and

experience, or military equivalentBasic welding

skills (MIG and stick )Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a team Proficient computer

skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $21.20– $26.50!
