This position is responsible to lead the operation of retail, catering, and patient meal areas under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager. This role provides direction related to creating an exceptional

experience for patients and guests. This position will oversee operations of this service line, following system-level best practice standards, supporting quality initiatives, meeting regulatory compliance, supervising caregivers, and realizing consumer expectations. Responsible for hiring, coaching, and counseling of staff on performance issues. Usually spends at least 50% of time performing administrative/supervisory

duties.

Scheduling

Work Schedule: Shifts between 6:00am-11:30pm

Required: Rotating weekend coverage and holidays

Job Essentials

Leads team and daily operations of assigned areas and ensures tasks are completed.Hires, coaches, and counsels employees and conducts performance reviews.Participates and/or leads orientation, and training.Assists in scheduling to ensure appropriate level of staffing and coverage for vacation and call-ins within allowed budget. Manages overtime and premium pay with budget.Responsible for management of assigned department resources, which may include inventory management, cash handling, and monitoring of equipment to ensure good/safe working order.Resolves issues such as service recovery, coaching/redirecting caregivers, and rearranging staffing.Leads patient areas and has competency in modified diets and patient meal standard works.Responsible to implement, under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager, best practice, system-level initiatives.Participate in and aligns services with all department guidelines including food safety, zero harm, goals, continuous improvement and more agencies and hospital.Achieves and maintains consumer satisfaction goals. Creates a positive

experience for each patient and guest.Assists in keeping storage areas clean and organized to ensure all Joint Commission and Health Department guidelines are followed.Conducts and participates in team meetings.Communicates issues with the appropriate members of management.May coordinate scheduled events and conferences and ensures they are serviced and function properly.May help coordinate meals to appropriate

locations by designated times.Other

Minimum

Requirements

Three Years Of Related Work

experience.Two years of leadership

experience.Demonstrated ability to lead in a positive and professional manner.Demonstrated effective verbal, written, interpersonal and communication

skills.Demonstrated computer proficiency.Food Handler Permit (as required by State) or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work. ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire date if not current.

Qualifications

Certified Dietary Manager Certification.Associate Degree in Food Services, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Business. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.
