As a Hospice Registered Nurse, here's a big-picture view of

what you'll do:Provide home-based care to patients with six months or less to live, focused on quality of lifeWork as part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of a physician, LPN, CNA, HHA, social worker, chaplain and volunteers to carry out the patient's plan of carePerform patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate breathing, monitor pain, administer prescribed medication and treatmentsEnsure accessibility of medical equipment, prescribed oxygen, medication and other suppliesEducate family on the patient's prognosis, changes in care plan, medication and hospice goalsTake a holistic approach to care that engages the patient's mind, body, spirit and family

Requirements

A few must-haves for Hospice Registered Nurses:Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) programActive, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of South Carolina or compact multi-state licenseTwelve (12) months of accumulated

experience as a registered nurse within the last five (5) years.One (1) year of hospice care

experience preferred.
