Brief overview of the role:

As an apprentice, you will work in a small but busy IT support team. Daily activities include supporting all the dental surgeries we support for their IT function. This can be both software and hardware using remote support software.

Working week:

Monday to Friday. 9.00-17.30.

Vacancy description:

An exciting apprenticeship opportunity has become available with a chance to work alongside a leading dental company, helping provide IT infrastructure and digital imaging solutions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with existing IT knowledge, looking to progress their career, and grow within the company.



Some of the daily activities are but not limited to -

  • Making inbound/outbound calls.
  • Resolving/fixing general IT issues and imaging issues.
  • Attend apprenticeship training and complete Exams within the apprenticeship scheme.
  • Work as part of team to meet client needs.
  • Run diagnostics to find problems with software and hardware.
  • General administrative duties
  • Manage/create Backups/patch jobs.
  • Shadow field engineers on site visits.
  • Provide support for Windows OS (7, 10 and Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019) and Mac OS.



Requirements and prospectsQualifications Required:

This is a Level 3 IT Apprenticeship which will last for a duration of 21 months. If you do not have a GCSE A*-C (4-9) in Maths or English, you will be required to undertake a short assessment to ascertain your suitability.


Desired skills:

  • Basic experience with Microsoft products.
  • General IT knowledge

Training to be provided:

CORE MODULES

The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the

knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful Information Communications Technician.

The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending

on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available.



Computer Fundamentals & Security

Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security and troubleshooting.



Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services

An introduction to the fundamental cloud

concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking

modules, devices and protocols.



Communication in Support

Support in IT requires good communications skills. Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support.

Future Prospects:

Potential for a full-time role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
