Quality Assurance Technician

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our factory team based in Kinmel, North Wales.

• This is a permanent position
• 
  £12.29 per hour (including shift allowance)
• 
  42 hours per week
• 
  24/7 - 4 on 4 off days and nights

IPN is an innovative, well-established, and award-winning pet food manufacturer, now employing over 400 people across our 3 UK sites. Our family of brands include Harringtons, Wagg, Barking Heads & Meowing Heads, AATU and a selection of partner brands that trust us to produce food on their behalf. Our kitchens in Thirsk and Kinmel produce dry, wet, and baked foods which are enjoyed by dogs and cats all over the world.

Key Accountabilities;

• To assist the QA Manager to ensure day to day routine technical and quality functions are completed in line with the company’s QMS (Quality Management system) for the wet and dry pet food operation.
• 
  To ensure product is manufactured in accordance to HACCP plan, GMP (good hygiene practices) and product specification.
• 
  To take an active role in the factory as directed by supporting the production team.
• 
  To have an “eyes wide open” presence when in the factory in order to report any incidence which would endanger product safety or product quality, or constitute an H & S issue.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications;

• Previous experience working within same of similar role - full training will be provided
• 
  Experience in food industry
  
• HACCP or Food Safety qualification Level 2 or higher - desirable
• 
  Must be self-motivated with a methodical approach to tasks
• 
  Effective communicator who can work alone with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving.

  Hours: 42 hours - 24/7 4 on 4 off

  £100 fuel bonus per month to assist with the rise in fuel costs
