Summary And

Qualifications

The Unit Secretary contributes to high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of clerical tasks. The Unit Secretary functions as receptionist for the unit and assists the patient care team while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.

What You Will Do For This Role

You will perform clerical functions in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. You will be responsible for supervision of nursing unit’s physical needs, and to transcribe orders. You will answer call lights, be responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining chart organization, and keep files/forms in orderly, organized fashion. You will conduct job

duties in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and safety/infection control standards. You will complete procedures related to patient admissions, transfers, discharges and expiration according to policy and procedures. You will actively participate in hospital and departmental group meetings.

What

qualifications you will need:

1 Year previous clerical

experience is RequiredOut of that 1 year,

experience in the hospital/medical field is strongly preferred. Medical terminology knowledge strongly preferred. Current BCLS issued by the American Heart Association, required.
