We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Phlebotomy team. We are looking for a confident, motivated and hardworking individual to work within our Pathology reception. Our Pathology department provides essential services to the Trust and the wider health care community.



This post is based at the Andover War Memorial hospital and is part-time. Due to the operational requirements of the department, this role is for 18.75 hours per week covering Monday – Friday, variable shifts



Main duties of the job


  • To answer phone calls from patients making appointments for a blood test at our three sites

  • To welcome patients and visitors to the Pathology Department, especially those attending for blood test, ensuring high levels of customer care

  • Respond to patient enquiries regarding our blood test appointment booking service.

  • Assist the phlebotomists with queries regarding blood requests from clinicians

  • To perform simple audits and input data into spread sheets to monitor department performance


This is a busy fast paced role within the department, so excellent communication skills and time management are key.



The Reception team are a key part of the wider Pathology team, often being the first point of contact to our department. Based in the Phlebotomy department at Andover War Memorial Hospital
