Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly motivated enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant who can demonstrate a high standard of clinical care, supporting a nursing team with a range of skill mix.

Duties and Responsibilities: Essential for this Role

  • Assist GP with minor surgery clinics/chaperone duties
  • New patient health screening/NHS Health Checks
  • Stock rotation, control and ordering
  • Cleansing and maintenance of clinical equipment
  • Wound management
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms
  • Assisting with collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being/Health promotion
  • Administer Vitamin B12, Influenza/pneumonia/shingles vaccinations
  • Support with QOF
  • Phlebotomy
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Preparation of clinical areas and equipment for specific patient care intervention, such as minor surgery/women’s health clinics
  • Processing and management of specimen requests
  • Ear Irrigation
  • Teledermatology

This list is not exhaustive and may change depending on national and local requirements.

The successful candidate will have worked collaboratively with a general practice team to meet the needs of patients and support the delivery of policy and procedures and MUST have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as HCA in primary care along with a working knowledge of Systmone

We are a 6 site practice and the successful candidate must be willing to work across all sites, however we will endeavour to base across 2 sites at any one time.

Essential
  • Previous experience working with the general public
  • Excellent customer service skills- both in person and on the telephone
  • Excellent IT skills- we use computers all day every day, and a robust understanding of computers is absolutely essential. Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel, and other web-based applications are absolutely essential.
  • Good communication skills- written and oral.
  • HCA Care Certificate or equivalent
Preferred
  • Previous Healthcare experience in Primary Care

Pay starting at £20,500 pro rata
