General Description And Classification Standards
The Purpose Of This Job Is To Perform
duties related to the operation and maintenance of a municipal swimming pool and perform other related work as required for the assigned department. This is an
experienced level capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the position with limited guidance or review.
Supervision Received
Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

Responsibilities
These Are Typical
responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other
duties as assigned.
Enforces preventative safety measures and provides general lifeguard services (i.e. rescuing swimmers in distress, administering CPR and first aid).
Organizes, teaches, and supervises groups and individuals in a variety of aquatic programs and activities.
Maintains a safe and clean aquatic environment including but not limited to: pool deck, pool water chemistry, locker rooms, showers, and bathroom.
Ensures that all equipment and supplies are adequate and in good condition, and makes recommendations for replacement when necessary.
May Complete Reports And Other Paperwork As Needed
Decision Making
Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
Leadership Provided
May oversee temporary or contract workers as needed.

Skills & Abilities

High school diploma or equivalent GED 1 year lifeguard
experience, or any equivalent combination of
education, training and
experience which provides the requisite knowledge,
skills, abilities for the jobApplicants must hold current lifeguard certification(s)
