Multimedia Unit Manager

The California Energy Commission is thrilled to announce that we are seeking a strategic Multimedia Unit Manager to join our Media and Public Communications Office team (MPCO)! The position will work in the Brand Strategy Branch of MPCO and work on mission-critical projects that will highlight the important work of the commission and staff. Salary Range: $6,760.00 - $8,398.00 per month and full

benefits Please note: Telework option available, but candidates must reside in California and be available to come into Headquarters at 715 P street when required.

Short

Summary:The Brand Strategy Branch includes the Multimedia Unit, Graphics Unit, and Editing Unit. The Multimedia Unit Manager will support the CEC’s communications strategy by managing the activities of the multimedia team who are responsible for digital content, video production, and photography. We are looking for individuals with strong leadership ability, organizational and interpersonal

skills. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of video production, project management, and be able to cultivate and maintain positive professional working relationships with the various stakeholders, leaders, and CEC team members.

Minimum

Qualifications for the Staff Services Manager I state classification (SSM I Supervisory):

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible management, personnel, fiscal, planning, program evaluation, or related analytical

experience beyond the trainee level which shall have included the preparation of reports and the presentation of recommendations to management, at least one year of which must have been in a full journeyperson technical capacity.

Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying

experience may be substituted for the required

education on a year-for-year basis.)

Desirable

Qualifications1) Excellent communication

skills.2) Knowledge,

skills, abilities, and a high-degree of

experience in multimedia production at a professional level.3) A strong understanding of audience behavior and needs on digital platforms, and engaging and appropriate messaging and visuals.4)

Experience managing projects and developing project plans.5) Serving in a lead capacity on a team.6) Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.7)

Experience interacting with a wide range of stakeholders and clients.8) Interest in energy and climate change issues.
