Job Description
OverviewThe Shipping and Receiving Manager is overall responsible for the facility's daily operation to include standards and achieving production goals. The Shipping and Receiving Manager is the driving force behind the continuous improvement programs and builds a culture of actively engaged associates.
ResponsibilitiesEnsures that safety and quality control processes are maintained by their respective departments.Works in conjunction with PCQI for food safety and human safety compliance.Maintains an audit score of 960 at minimum.Ensures that shipping and receiving is maintained on a high-velocity dock.Maintains an acceptable trailer unload and load time. (30 mins- 1.5hrs)Maintains maintenance reliability in conjunction with onsite technicians.Maintains respective staffing schedules.Oversees and provides direction for demand planning, scheduling, and inventory control.Works within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and maintain 99% inventory control, quality management, and maintenance management.Hires, supervises, and reviews respective management performance to meet facility goals.Manages and leads a full-time and temporary workforce.Acts as point of contact for a single customer and communicating quality and production performance.Maintains Business Acumen (Cost vs. Revenue)Communicates and implements company policy.Conducts reviews and coaches associates for professional development and growth.Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.Works weekends as needed. Required
Skills/Abilities: Excellent managerial and supervisory
skills.Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.Excellent organizational
skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Continuous Improvement champion mentality.
Education And
Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)Certification through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) (preferred)PLEX
experience (preferred)7 -10 years
experience in a manufacturing environment working in a management role.Working knowledge of demand planning, forecasting, and scheduling.Excellent ability to solve problems effectively. Working knowledge and
experience with Safety Programs (OSHA, Workman's Comp).Working knowledge and
experience with Quality Assurance Management (RCAs, Corrective/Preventative Measures, ISO, AIB, SQF).Working knowledge or certification in Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
Experience working with a temporary workforce.Excellent written and oral communication
skills.Computer literacy for using WMS, e-mail, MS Office applications, intranet, and file management and integration.Bilingual - English/Spanish. (preferred)Able to work flexible hours and minimally travel.
Experience working with staffing agencies. (preferred)
Experience working with robotics. (preferred)
