Role Profile:

To program, set, and run CNC Lathes. Producing parts predominantly in Aluminium and Stainless steel, occasionally other materials are used. You will also be required to supervise production staff operating CNC Lathes.

Hours:Day Shift

Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Friday 08:00 to 14:00 (No lunch break)

Late Shift

Monday to Thursday 16:30 to 01:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Friday 14:00 to 20:00 (No lunch break)

Duties

  • Programming
  • Interpreting drawing and identifying best machining practice
  • Setting up machine with program and tooling
  • Producing First off and inspection
  • Operating/Loading machines
  • Reporting of any defects and production issues to Shift Leaders / Supervisors
  • Conducting basic testing and quality checks – highlighting any issues to Supervisors
  • Basic machine maintenance / daily checks
  • Adhering to Health & Safety Regulations
  • General house keeping and ensuring work areas are free from hazards
  • Working to the approved Production Plan
  • Completion of timesheets in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Experience with Fanuc and Mazak controls desirable
  • Time served or equivalent experience an advantage
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment and on own initiative
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organisation
  • Willingness to learn new methods, processes and techniques
  • Commitment to implementing business improvement initiatives
  • Well organised

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year

To keep staff safe we have systems in place for social distancing. We have good housekeeping in place, we currently stagger start and finish times to minimise contact with others, shift don't meet.

  • Wirral, CH62 4YB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
