Benefits Specialist, where you'll work closely with individuals experiencing homelessness or at immediate risk to expedite their applications for disability and Medicaid

benefits. Duties

Conduct client interviews and gather necessary information to complete SSI/SSDI applications. Compile medical records and other documentation required for benefit applications. Write comprehensive Medical

Summary Reports for consumer applications. Coordinate appointments and visits with medical professionals to obtain evidence for cases. Collaborate with community partners and case management services to ensure comprehensive support for clients. Develop and implement a tracking strategy for documenting constituent services provided. Provide

education and training as needed, contributing to ongoing professional development efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health or related field. At least 2 years of

experience working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness Intermediate to advanced computer

skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel. Excellent written and oral communication

skills, with the ability to synthesize information effectively. Strong interpersonal

skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of federal, state, and local government structures, as well as private sector resources, is a plus.

Experience with data tracking and knowledge of Social Security Administration processes preferred. Evidence of ongoing training and

education in related areas such as mental illness, substance

Hourly: $18 - 20/hr
